COAST HIGHLIGHT: THE SSEW INITIATIVE
COAST is also the home of the Sugar, Stress, Environment, & Weight (SSEW) Initiative, a think-tank comprised of leading sugar scientists, nutritionists, public health professionals, and medical providers across from XX UC Campuses that are researching the impact of sugar, stress, and social disadvantage on obesity. SSEW researchers work alongside California policy makers to support the development of public policy that will reduce obesity and create a healthier future for California, UC students, faculty, and staff.
